Q: How do I access my Synology NAS?

You have full access to your NAS through DSM (DiskStation Manager) via web, Synology mobile apps, and direct VPN connection. You can also use SMB/CIFS, NFS, AFP or WebDAV depending on your needs. We provide admin credentials so you can configure users, folders and permissions as needed.

Q: Is the NAS shared with other customers?

No, it is 100% dedicated hardware. You receive a physical Synology RackStation exclusively for your company. It is not virtualized or shared storage. The equipment is yours and reserved solely for your organization.

Q: What if I need more space?

Scaling is very simple. We can add RX2423 expansion units to your existing NAS or migrate to a larger model if needed. The process is performed hot without losing availability. Contact us and within a few days you will have the additional capacity operational.

Q: Which Synology applications can I use?

All official Synology applications are available: Synology Drive, Active Backup for Business, Hyper Backup, Surveillance Station, MailPlus, Photos, Video Station and many more. You can also install third-party packages from the Package Center.

Q: How is my data protected?

Your NAS uses SHR-2 (Synology Hybrid RAID) which tolerates the failure of 2 simultaneous disks. Additionally, we maintain hot-spare disks for immediate replacement. Optionally you can contract replication to a second NAS in another datacenter or backup to our S3 Object Storage for maximum protection.

Q: Can I integrate the NAS with Active Directory?

Yes, Synology DSM supports full integration with Active Directory and LDAP. Your users can authenticate with their existing corporate credentials. You can also use the NAS as a domain controller with Synology Directory Server if you do not have AD.

Q: What is the deployment time?

Once the order is confirmed, your NAS will be operational in 5-10 business days. This includes hardware provisioning, initial DSM setup, RAID volume creation and remote access configuration. Data migration depends on the volume to transfer.
